Virgin Australia Launch New Fares

Virgin Australia Launch New Fares

Virgin Australia Launch Fares For You

Effective today, 7 September 2016, Virgin Australia introduces Fares For You, a new fare structure offering customers more choice, value and flexibility, enabling travellers to tailor their bookings to their individual travel needs. Available from today, Fares For You will offer a great range of fares across all domestic and international routes. Virgin Australia guests will continue to experience the award-winning service that is synonymous with the brand, but will have greater control over inclusions in their fare. A total of nine fare brands across our entire domestic and international routes are available for sale. The new fare structure includes:

Economy fares – Getaway, Elevate, Freedom
Two (2) additional Economy fares for Trans Tasman and International Short Haul – Go, Go Plus
Premium fares – Premium Saver, Premium
Business fares – Business Saver, Business

The new fare structure will also provide customers with more;

Choice – now with nine (9) fare brands there is a fare for every travel occasion
Flexibility – enable customers to tailor their travel to their needs, offering greater control over various product inclusions and the ability to upgrade to a fare to offer both value and more flexibility with options to explore if the customer’s plans change. This also includes a reduced flight change fee t0 $50 (or $0 if changed 30days prior to departure) for our new Domestic “Elevate” fare
Value – through choosing to travel lite or travel with checked baggage and save on extras that may not be needed

What isn’t changing: What is not changing is that all of our guests, on every route and in every cabin, will continue to experience the award-winning service synonymous with Virgin Australia. In addition, all domestic passengers will continue to enjoy complimentary food, baggage and entertainment on every flight regardless of the fare type they select.

As advised on 23 August, you are reminded that the introduction of Advance Seat Preference – a small advance seat selection fee for our least flexible and lowest fare types has been postponed until we have a technology fix that allows us to make Platinum and Gold Velocity members exempt from the fee. We will provide an update once the timing of its introduction is confirmed.

Reminder: For guests who have purchased fares prior to 7 September 2016, existing fare rules will apply for travel and their first change and cancellation. For any subsequent changes, the new fare rules will apply. For any guests who purchase a fare from 7 September 2016 onwards, the new fare rules will apply.
