Crooked Compass Exploratory Tour

Road to Mandalay: Venture into Untouched Lands

Crooked Compass are calling avid travellers to join our new Road to Mandalay exploratory tour encompassing India, Bangladesh and Myanmar, across the recently opened border between East India and Myanmar.

Crooked Compass is the first company in the southern hemisphere to secure permits for this newly opened border. Travellers will be in the first few hundred foreigners in the world to ever cross this post by land.

A 25 or 30 day itinerary is available for travel in March and October, 2017, accommodating 12 people per tour. Private departures can be arranged on request.

“This is one of our most exciting and memorable journeys, perfect for those who seek that sense of discovery and serendipity which occurs on first time forays into new places. This is the essence of our company motto #FollowADifferentPath,” says Founding Director, Lisa Pagotto.

Many of the regions visited on the tour have not been accessible to foreign travellers, allowing a truly authentic experience with little known minority tribes, breathtaking wildlife encounters, spectacular virgin landscapes and raw cultural immersion.   We are working in conjunction with local indigenous communities and supporting new ecotourism initiatives and invite you to join us as we venture into wild lands and remote villages.

You become part of the exploration, helping to make decisions as we go and sharing insights with guides and local people about your experience.
